University of Karlsruhe (KIT)The working group formatting of social spaces, being also affiliated with the postdigital worlds working group at the HfG Karlsruhe, is concerned with phenomena of formatization today. The focus is on technology-based and socioeconomic formats on the one hand, and on the related forming of social behavior and individual perception on the other. Amongst others, central questions are: what led to the emergence of formats in modernity, how do they coin our today's Lebenswelt, our basic perceptions of the world surrounding us, in which directions their further unfolding is taking place. The results are published on a regular base in the e-journal of New Frontiers in Spatial Concepts, with Ulrich Gehmann and Rolf-Ulrich Kunze as editors-in-chief. In addition, a research group has been installed to investigate these phenomena more deeply. Aligned with it, a working group in MARCEL, the ASE (Augmented Social Evolution) has been established.
