Performing

This area promotes performative practices as an online studio utilizing the one to one; some to many; or one to many models. Since 2001, there have been numerous interactive telematic performances involving MARCEL members through a wide variety of events ranging from “First Contact”, a simple call and response connection between a candle in Toronto and a drummer in London, to complex multi-node performances joining together as many a five audio and video sources into a dynamic real-time compositing environment. Telematic performance presents particular problems in each context and the Project Workspace is a vehicle for the articulation, design, experimental prototyping, and collaboration toward successfull live manifestions and archiving scores and recordings.
